Degree Requirements

Ÿ Master Program (2 years):

Course work: 24 credits (1 year)
Thesis and thesis defense (1 year)

Ÿ Doctoral Program (Average 4 years):

Course work: 18 credits
Qualify exam (within 2 years)
International journal paper (at least 1)
Dissertation and dissertation defense

Ÿ PhD from Bachelor degree
Applicants accepted into Master program can jump to PhD program in the first year and complete PhD in 3 years

Guideline for new international students

 Tuition payment

International students should pay the tuition and supplementary fee at Cashier section after finishing registration process. Tuition fee will be waived for NTUST scholarship awarded students. However, student insurance fee (around NT 255) and dormitory fee (around NT6,000-7,000 per semester) payment are required for all students.

 NTUST scholarship stipend

The first monthly stipend for NTUST scholarship (http://www.oia-e.ntust.edu.tw/front/bin/ptlist.phtml?Category=78) awarded students will be provided around the beginning of the second month of each semester after finishing all the related procedures, thereafter you will get the scholarship at the beginning of each month. However, all students have to pay tuition fee and student insurance fee in September to complete registration procedures. For scholarship awarded students, they still have to pay student insurance fee (around NT255). Be sure to prepare enough money for all the fees and living expense before getting the payment from scholarship.


 Insurance and health examination

All new students should have additional health examination in designated health centers after arrival in NTUST. Students may participate in the new student health examination program offered by NTUST. Please contact on-campus clinic after your registration. The fee is around NT$500-1,000. Therefore, please prepare the proper amount before arriving in NTUST.
